The Coundon Service was one of only two Armstrong Siddeley services to survive until 1962. The 1962 route is very different to the 1957 route and, because of one-way roads, it was different in each direction. The Coventry Theatre was one of the fare stages, but in order to reach it on the outward journey, the buses would have had to turn right at the bottom of the burgess and then retrace their route back along Hales Street. This has been assumed in the route description.
From Parkside via Little Park Street, High Street, Broadgate, Ironmonger Row, The Burgess, Hales Street, Coventry Theatre, Hales Street, Corporation Street, Hill Street, Coundon Road, Barker Butts Lane, Holyfast Road and Norman Place Road to the Service 5 terminus at the junction with Duncroft Avenue.
The return Journey from the Coventry Theatre to Broadgate would have been via Trinity Street. The return Journey from High Street to Parkside would have been via Earl Street, Much Park Street and (probably) Short Street.
Pre-1961, the route from Parkside to Barker Butts Lane was via St Patrick's Road, Queens Road, Queen Victoria Road, Holyhead Road and Moseley Avenue.
Drill Hall, Holyhead Hotel and Courtland Avenue.
Broadgate, Coventry Theatre, Corporation Street/Hill Street, Coundon Road Station, Three Spires Avenue and Courtland Avenue.
