Corporation Bus Routes

This account of the Coventry Corporation bus routes is intended to capture the spirit of the routes as they were in the heyday of Coventry Transport in the 1950s. Much of the history of the development of the routes and service numbers has been extracted from Denton and Groves [1,2] and reformatted to provide a coherent account for each individual route. Other information has been taken from the commemorative publications [3,4]. The definitive routes listings are based on the timetables and fare tables [5,6]. In addition, other archived documents from the Coventry History Centre have been used, many of which are fragments and difficult to define as specific citations.
