John McSparron

John grew up in Coventry. As a schoolboy he was always interested in the buses and coaches of the area. This was mainly from the mid 1950s until the late 1960s. He then went to work in the infant computer industry, where mainframe computers were bigger than a house and used paper tape for data and the programs were prepared on punched cards. By the time he retired, computers smaller than the palm of your hand were many more times more powerful than the early mainframes and modern servers had power and speed that was unimaginable in the days when he joined the industry.

He now runs a family history website and contributes significantly to the body of knowledge about Coventry Corporation Transport and buses in general.

Since the sad demise of Peter Walduck, John has taken on the responsibility of running the CWK205 forum.
