Our First Display Boards
One of our members created these display boards for publicising the CCT Society and the history of Coventry Corporation Transport. Their first use was to publicise the Society and its activities in the canteen at Wheatley Street Garage, which many drivers and other staff use for their breaks. One of the reasons for choosing the canteen was that there is often a family tradition of service in the bus industry. That was particularly so in the days of Coventry Corporation Transport, but is still found today, even within the deregulated bus companies.
The whole display stands 1.5 metres tall and the overall width is about 1.5 metres, including the side "wings". There is a shelf unit half way up, which allows "take-away" leaflets to be displayed.
The boards can be taken apart for transportation. The shelf unit un-clips and the side wings can be detached via loose pin hinges. Each panel then folds in half and the whole can easily be fitted into a small car.
