The Original White Lady 1938

CWK 205 was delivered in 1938 and is seen here in Broadgate waiting to depart to Green Lane as Service 2.  That service was replaced by an extension to Service 16 in December 1938, so 205 would have been new when this photograph was taken.  There was a post-war White Lady, GKV 100, the Crossley also featured in this gallery.  Tram 52 was also painted in this reverse livery in 1940, albeit only to be retired later that year when the tram system was abandoned.

This photograph was supplied by Geoff Cowley, printed from a negative loaned to him by Alf Owen in the early 1960s.
