Daimler COA6 circa 1937

BKV 169 was delivered in 1937 and was one of the first Buses fitted with an AEC Comet 3 7.7 Litre direct injection engine.  The new Earlsdon route, Service 11A from Pool Meadow, was introduced in October 1937, replacing decommissioned Tram Route 8.  Fleet No 169 is seen here at the Earlsdon terminus at the junction of Beechwood Avenue and Hartington Crescent, ready for the return trip to Pool Meadow.  Note the gas lamp situated near the boarding platform.
